Christmas Morning

This year we had a lovely Christmas with the Serafines in Utah.  It was beautiful and snowy, and a perfect Christmas.  We always love spending it with family, and thanks to the Serafines for having us!

Before we packed up and went north, though, I had the boys open one present.  There was one for everyone and they would have taken up too much space in our car.  I don't think Graham was as excited about these presents as I was, but he did find the Toy Story Kleenex I put in them.  But I made everyone a 72 hour kit, with contents specific to each person.  It was actually kind of a fun project.  I did some research on what should go in each pack, and think I did an okay job keeping us covered.  I kept them pretty simple, with some basic tools and food, although you can really go all out on making a kit.

We celebrated Christmas Eve at the clubhouse in Matt's grandparents neighborhood.  Most of his extended family was there, and it is always good to see everyone and visit.

Graham and Matt made some cookies for Santa, and the boys opened their Christmas jammies.  We tried to get a good picture of them opening the present, but Mason was freaking out because it was bed time and time to eat, so our present opening was short-lived.

When we started opening gifts, Graham wasn't too convinced he wanted to be part of the activity.  He got ahold of this little ladle and a handful of Reeses, and that was good enough for him.  It took quite a while for us to get him to put some of it down so he could open his presents.

Mason, on the other hand, was ready and willing to open anyone's presents.

After a while, Graham caught on to that there were some cool things in the gifts, and they were all for him.

Gary and Lori have been serving a teaching mission, and are teaching English to Spanish speakers.  They attend a Spanish branch, and are learning to speak Spanish themselves.  We found these games and thought they would be perfect.  I love their reactions to the games most of all.  Manzanas con Manzanas, and Espanol Banagrams.  When they read the titles and realized what they were, their expressions were priceless.  : )

Santa brought Graham this really cool racetrack.  Too bad Santa didn't put it together before he wrapped it. He must have been lazy or something.  Ha ha.  So once Graham had it open, Matt got to put it together.  It took a while...

...so uncle Riley jumped in and helped, and it was together in no time.

We tried to get a picture of all the grandsons in their Christmas jammies, and this is the best one we got.  Graham is not interested, Mason is screaming, and Benson is just tiny and cute.  Maybe next time.  : )

 Allison and Riley got a cord for Christmas that would hook up their iPad to the TV, so we tried it out.  Matt hooked up Katlyn's new TV, and tried out the iPad.  As you can see, Matt is playing Angry Birds.  Graham thought he was playing too.  We got a pretty good laugh out of Graham, who thinks all screens are touch screens.

We didn't put Graham down for a nap on Christmas day; we thought we'd let him just enjoy his toys.  But at about 4:00, he climbed into Matt's lap and fell asleep.  He rarely does this, but he was exhausted.  He looks (and is) so precious sleeping.  And cute in those jammies.

Mason looks pretty cute as well.
