warm play days and cold beach days

The longer we live here in San Diego, the more we love it.  We loved Arizona, but now we see why people flock to San Diego.  It's fabulous.  The weather is nearly always beautiful, and there are so many things to do.  We happen to live in an exceptionally wonderful area, as we are able to walk to nearly everything.  Oftentimes we walk to Ralphs, Trader Joes, the library, and it's wonderful.  It's a shame the Navy is making us live here.  Such a burden.  : )  Sometimes the boys get books from the library and they can't wait to get home to read them.  This particular day, they found a Lightening McQueen book, which was a hit.

"Graham, what are you doing?"
"Messing up my room."
"Yes, Graham, you are."

The safari ride at the Wild Animal Park, although nothing compared to the safari ride at Disney World, is always nice.

The boys found a dirt hill at the park and decided it was best to slide down it on their bums.

These boys love blocks (at the library) and Legos.

The boys love the beach.  They love it.  We promised Graham we would go a few weeks ago, and he was beyond excited.  The day before we went, we got in the car to run an errand, and when we pulled back into the garage he was devastated.  He still doesn't quite understand days of the week and he was just sure that we were going to the beach the night before.  He cried for the longest time.  The next day, though, we went to the beach, and it was kind of a cold day.  It was windy and really misty.  The boys didn't seem to care, though.  I was freezing and they were unfazed.

There had been a really high tide for a few weeks and the sand was all washed out and wet.  We found a little mesa of sand.  It was dry on top, but surrounded by a small cliff.
