January 2016

Cookies and milk

Mason's first drawing of a person.  Look how cute.  These are my favorite drawings.

We paid the kids a few dollars to do some odd jobs around the house.  Graham cleaned the base boards.

Mason drawing a monster truck prior to Monster Jam.  2016 is the year of the stay-cation for us.  At the beginning of January, we took the boys to Monster Jam at Petco Park.  They were so excited about it.  We got a great deal at the Omni hotel downtown, and stayed a night there.

The view of Petco from our hotel.

For my <30th> birthday, Matt got me tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld.  It was the best.  We were laughing so hard our bellies hurt.  We don't ever take pictures of ourselves, but here we are...out on the town.

The bunk beds.  It was time to retire the boys from their toddler beds, and we had decided that bunk beds was going to be the next best thing because first of all, they're awesome, and secondly, it's a good way to get multiple beds into a single room.  Eventually there will be a crib in there too.  Anyway, we braved a trip to IKEA.  It was a long trip, and we spend a small fortune.  We crammed everything in our van, and brought it all home.  That night, Matt started putting together the bunk beds, but we realized the despite the boxes being numbered and labeled differently, they contained the same pieces.  No bueno.  So poor Matt had to make a second trip to IKEA at 7 o'clock at night.  The beds are assembled, however, and are great!

Bad haircuts.  Yikes.  We had a week where we all got bad haircuts.  Really.  I went in and had my hair turned gray, and Mason had this hack job.  I went back in and got my hair cut, and I took Mason to a real barber and got his hair fixed.

[Not a good look, huh Mason?]

After: much better
