When Matt was finished with his final rotation of his third year of medical school (let's take a moment here...three years! Woot Woot! He's doing awesome, by the way, we couldn't be prouder.) we found that we had a whole week off and made the drive up to Utah. I was a little skeptical (read: a lot skeptical) that Graham would do well in the car, and he ended up doing awesome. We borrowed a DVD player from some friends of ours (thanks, Coles!) and we were good to go. But we had a great time and were able to see nearly all of Matt's family, minus one sister who is on a mission. We spent some of the time hiking...
(And please disregard the smudges. I didn't realize that there was a huge sunscreen smear on the lens on my camera until it was too late...)
Graham found some pretty cool sticks and found some good rocks to hit. We didn't make it all the way to the top...Graham and I turned around because we are wimps. Or at least I'm a wimp.
We swam...although Graham didn't want to wear his little floaty suit.
But then Alli's husband, Riley, lost his wedding ring in the yard. Everyone lined up and looked for it. No such luck, though, until a few days later when they broke out the metal detector.
And, by the way, Graham gives the best kisses. (Although he might be eating poor little Claire's face, here. I think she moved mid-kiss.)
Then we got to ride some horses with Matt's uncle Mike and Aunt Sharlan.
All the kids thought it was pretty cool.
We rode trax up to City Creek. The kids thought this was pretty fun, too. On the way home, though, we happened to come across an escapee from the hospital...

And then we headed up the canyon for some dutch oven dinner...which was sooo good.
And, of course, played in the dirt...a Graham special.
Although he wasn't too hot on the canoe ride.
Uncle Jake helped the girls fish....
And Jane was super brave. She caught a fish, and held it! Kind of gross...but she was so excited to catch it.
...and kiss it. Ha ha.

You guys really were busy! Looks like a fun trip though. The pic of everyone looking for the ring is too funny. I love that you took that. Ha!
