Graham swims

Our city offers swimming lessons for kids from age 6 months, and since swimming lessons is part of summer, we enrolled Graham in a little toddler swim class.  He was pretty cute in it.  A parent had to swim with the kids every time, so I took Graham the first week and Matt took Graham the second.  He learned quite a bit, but mostly got comfortable being in the water and using his new set of swimming skills.  We learned how to hold onto the side of the pool, and use our arms to scoot down the side until we got to the stairs.  See him holding on by himself?  He looks so teeny.  Pretty funny.

We practiced kicking our legs.

Some of swim time was spent playing with toys in the shallow end.

Graham made a treat for his swim teacher,

(mid blink?  Strange face, there Graham.)

and gave it to him on the last day.  Graham's swim teacher was pretty fun, he was in our stake.

On a side note, do you see how Graham is the only kid on the side of the pool?  All the other kids were jumping in the water, but there was a train passing by on the other side of the fence, there.  Graham was so preoccupied by the train that he wasn't paying attention.  Silly boy.

Graham even swam around with his teacher a bit.

We practiced climbing out of the pool using the ladder.

Graham did so well!  He got his little certificate and a sucker, which he was very happy about.  Good job, Graham!

Well, he's got to learn all about swimming if his daddy is a Navy man!
