Hey, Graham!
What's for breakfast today?

Oh, hi, Mom.  I didn't see that you...

...had the camera!
Cheese!

Here are some things that make you fat are really tasty! : )

#1: Homemade ice cream.  I found the recipe here and you don't need a machine to make it.  It's so good.

and if it wasn't fattening enough, we put it between two cookies.

#2: Pizza rolls.  Basically I made a pizza, rolled it up like a cinnamon roll, and baked it.  Kind of strange, but really good.  : )

Mmmmm.....i-n-d-i-g-e-s-t-i-o-n.

you raise me up, so I can stand on mountains...

I hope you have that song stuck in your head all day long now.  : )

Last night we got to go to a Josh Groban concert with our friends the Bushmans, and it was so fun!  A guy in our stake is the suite coordinator for US Airways center, and he offered Matt 4 tickets to the concert.  Before we made up our minds if we were going to go or not, I was torn.  I really wanted to go, but I didn't want to leave Graham with a babysitter.  : (  I decided that I couldn't pass up on free Josh Groban tickets, so Graham had his very first babysitter last night.  It was a pretty easy job, though, Graham slept the whole time.

The concert was excellent.  Josh Groban was great and very entertaining.  We also had great seats...in a suite.  We were pretty legit.  We had our name on the parking list, and got to walk through the VIP lounge to get to our suite.  There was nobody in the lounge, but it was something to walk through.

Oh, and there was food in the suite.  I told you we were legit.  : )  This picture is blurry, but you get the idea.

viva las vegas

Last weekend we got to go to Vegas to see Matt's family.  Matt's cousin was getting married, everyone was coming down, and we don't live too far away so we made the short trip to see them.  It was good to see family again, but sadly, I didn't take very many pictures.  Or hardly any pictures at all.  : (  I did take pictures of us eating ice cream.  Exciting, I know.  We went to Serendipity 3, which I had never heard of until Alli told us all about it, but Matt and I shared this cookie sundae, and it was so good.

take me out to the ball game

Graham wanted to go to a baseball game.  He even asked very nicely if he could have his own chair.

But he got a little sllleeeeeeepy........

But it wasn't anything a few treats in the 7th inning stretch couldn't fix.

I realize this is kind of a bad picture, but look at Graham.  "Let's go, D-Backs!"

We had a great time!  We like having sports teams so close to home that we can go see.  It's one of the perks of living in such a big city.

Sorry, no pictures of Matt this time.  He was there, but the one picture I took of he and Graham didn't turn out how I thought it did.  Once I uploaded it and took a better look, the camera wasn't actually focusing on Matt and Graham, it was focusing on the upper thigh of a somewhat wrinkly lady who was sitting a few rows behind him.  I'll spare you from having to look at it.

phoenix children's museum

Last Friday the Phoenix Children's museum had a free entry day...and we couldn't miss out on a free activity, so we took Graham!  The free hours started at six, so we left a little early to get there a little before everything started.  When we arrived there was a line of people outside, but it wasn't too bad.  Once they opened the doors we went up to the baby room which was really quiet and nice, but by the time we were done, and had made our way through the rest of the museum, it was packed.  Every room was a madhouse and there were tons of people lined up outside, and they were just waiting because they weren't able to come in yet.  We were really glad we got there when we did.

There were lots of things at Graham's level to play with, and we strongly discouraged finger sucking while we played.

Graham tried out a comfy seat that looked like a bird's nest.

And some super cool toys.

There were lots of things to climb on,

and a small little table to sit at.

There were some cool animal sounds here,

and some fun things to look at here.

Graham helped Daddy put some plastic balls down this tube,

and we walked through a noodle maze.

We think Graham had a pretty good time.

today is the first day of school

and look at my new student...

he's the best student any teacher could ask for  :)

he works hard on his assignments, puts his name on his paper,

and sometimes eats crayons.  oops.

I think he deserves an A+, don't you?

In the real world, however, today was the first day of school.  Throughout the day I thought about who might be teaching in my old classroom, what the students might look like, what they would act like, what terrible words they would say, and what a long day it could be.  But I thought about these things while I was playing with Graham, changing poopy diapers, and soothing tears from a bonked head.  I think I know which student I'd rather spend my day with.
